At Control Union, impartiality, integrity, transparency and trust are central to everything we do. Our certification processes are designed to guarantee objectivity and reliability. We strictly adhere to impartiality, prevent fraud or bribery and ensure confidentiality.
Impartiality
Control Union attaches great importance to impartiality in all its certification activities. Our procedures are based on the principles of objectivity and integrity. An independent Advisory Board, consisting of representatives from various sectors such as forestry, food production, energy and transport, advises management on policies and principles relating to impartiality. This board also verifies that our certification activities are free from conflicts of interest.
Fraud and bribery
Control Union has a strict policy against fraud and bribery. During audits, objective evidence is collected to confirm that the system (e.g. the quality management system) complies with the relevant standards and that the organisation complies with its own processes and procedures. Auditors inspect facilities, interview employees and managers, and check documents and records to assess the effectiveness and implementation of the system.
We always work according to the “four eyes principle”, which means that at least two people are always involved in a certification decision. Control Union also has whistleblower policies in place. In the unlikely event of fraud or other undesirable incidents, these can be reported anonymously, after which a further investigation will always take place.
Our accreditations guarantee that we also put our principles regarding fraud and bribery into practice.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is a fundamental aspect of the certification process and of Control Union as an organisation. We understand that you disclose a lot of confidential business information during an audit and that confidentiality is therefore of great importance. Control Union is committed to treating all information obtained during audits and certification activities as confidential. All data is guaranteed to be stored securely and shared only with authorised parties. This commitment to confidentiality ensures the trust of our customers and the integrity of the certification process. Our accreditations confirm that we comply with this confidentiality and privacy policy.
