Control Union Guidelines
When you receive a certificate from Control Union, you may be granted permission to use a specific certification mark or logo. The right to use these logos is reserved for holders of a valid certificate and compliance with the associated rules.
Permitted use
Product certification: When certifying products, marks, logos or statements may generally be used on products or packaging, provided that the rules of the certification scheme are complied with.
Management system certification: When certifying management systems, marks, logos or statements may not be used on products or packaging, nor in any other way that suggests product conformity.
Guidelines for use: what is and is not permitted?
When referring to and using certificates, marks or logos, the following rules apply:

It is not permitted to suggest that the certification relates to activities, units or products that are not within the scope of the certification.

References to certification or to Control Union Certifications (CUC) are only permitted after the relevant certificate has been issued.

It is prohibited to make misleading statements about the certification status.

Trademarks and logos must be reproduced in full, including any borders, and may only be used in the prescribed colours or in black and white.

The use of trademarks and logos is evaluated during audits based on programme-specific requirements.

It is not permitted to place logos on test or calibration reports or certificates issued by laboratories.
Unlawful use and sanctions
In the event of incorrect, unauthorised or misleading use, appropriate measures may be taken, including legal action and publication of the infringement. Such use is considered a serious non-compliance with the certification requirements and may result in immediate suspension of certification.
