    Frequently asked questions

Control Union inspects everything ‘under the hook,’ meaning any accessory or piece of equipment that can be lifted by a crane hook. This covers shackles, slings, chain hoists, wire rope assemblies and similar items across ships, offshore platforms and factories.

Inspections take place every 12 months as required by legislation. Scheduling is coordinated with site operations to fit between active work periods, avoiding any downtime.

On Dutch soil and fixed offshore structures, EKH standards under the Arbobesluit apply. For vessels, LOLER applies as the internationally recognised norm. Each inspected item receives a digital inspection report, accessible through the online portal.
